The beauty of 3D printing is it allows us to make changes when we see a way to make our product better. After 40+ hours of designing and testing prototypes, new and improved version of The Knob Blocker is now available!

What’s New - Choice of Material - Our Knob Blockers are now made with PETG
What’s fixed - Using PETG instead of ASA allows the Knob Blocker to flex around the antenna for a tighter fit, making it less likely to rise and completely block use of the channel and volume controls if caught on gear/clothing etc.
What’s improved – open slot around antenna allows for better fit, rounded edges and no large gap between guard and radio, slot for lanyard, emergency button (on applicable models.)
Why we designed The Knob Blocker 2-way radio volume and channel guard
Our founder is a member of our local Squamish Search and Rescue team. The idea came after hanging under the long line of a helicopter and having accidentally bumped the volume down to the lowest setting on his radio. This resulted in not being able to hear anything without realizing it, which was a serious safety concern.

Material
We use PETG (Polyethylene terephaphthalate Glycol), a thermoplastic material for 3D printing The Knob Blocker. PETG is one of the most popular filaments for 3D prints because it has high impact strength, durability , resistance to water intrusion and good printability offering excellent layer adhesion. PETG is a food-safe material and is recyclable.
