Frequently Asked Questions

Are you expanding your radio model options?

Yes!

We are working on expanding our radio model selection. The limiting factor is we need the radios in hand to properly design and test the guards as each model is different.

If you have a fleet of radios and can spare a radio for up to a month, we can custom design a guard. We offer a Partners Program offering you 25 guards for free (Value $688 CAD / $500 USD) by lending us a spare radio from your fleet for up to a month.

Do you have a partnership Program?

Yes! As a small business established in 2023 we are looking for reputable companies to resell, refer, endorse and provide testimonials. Check out our Partners. To learn more about our partner programs email us at info@skookumworks.ca.

why am I being charged iN Canadian (CAD)?

We had to make a tough choice. Our website provider only offers the option for one currency. We went with CAD because we live in Canada. Sorry my fellow Americans. It’s a thorn in our side too. The good news for our US friends, Canadian currency is usually about 30-40% less than USD. You will see the saving reflected on your credit card statement. Your credit card will reflect the daily exchange rate when making a purchase on our website.

Contact us directly and we can create a manual invoice in US dollars for larger orders.

What is the correct way to install and remove The Knob Blocker?

All Knob Blocker models are designed to slide on to the radio from the top of the antenna and down along the antenna until it fits into place. Although some models have a cut out on the side of the antenna hole (as shown below), it is not intended to be “clipped onto” the antenna from the side. The purpose of the cutout is to allow some flex in the material for a snug fit on the antenna.

Some models (notably the APX series) feature a sleeve made out of flexible material around the antenna hole. The function of this sleeve is to account for slight variances in antenna sizes, to ensure a good fit. The sleeve is not intended to be removed but in some cases you might find it helpful to remove the sleeve, slide the Knob Blocker down the antenna, then slide the sleeve down after.
