New-Knob Blocker- XTS2500

Introducing the Knob Blocker Guard for the Motorola XTS2500

If you're still running the Motorola XTS®2500 portable radio, you know how tough and reliable it is—even if it’s no longer being manufactured. We’re excited to introduce a small but mighty accessory that helps extend its usability: the Knob Blocker guard.

These guards are designed to prevent accidental knob movement, especially in rough environments. No more finding your volume turned down or your channel changed mid-shift. The guard keeps the settings locked in, so your gear works the way it should—when it matters.

Special Thanks to Taylor!

Taylor loaned us his personal Motorola XTS5000 so we could design the guard and test the fit. Instead of accepting the 25 guards we offered him in return, he asked that they be donated to his local police or fire department. That generous idea sparked something bigger. Thanks to Taylor, we launched our 2025 Give Back Program—a new way to support those who rely on this gear every day. Each month, we will select one volunteer emergency response organization (e.g., Search and Rescue, Volunteer Firefighters, Volunteer Ski Patrol) to receive 20 Skookum Works Guards. Monthly prize value up to $800 CAD. Our goal is to support 12 teams and provide gear to 240 individual responders in 2025, contributing up to $10,000 worth of radio guards over the year.

Our Monthly winners so far for 2025 are:

So here’s to Taylor! Thank you for your generosity and sparking the idea for our Give Back Program.

If you’ve got a Motorola XTS5000, the Knob Blocker accessory might be just what you need to extend its usability in the field.
