Update on Our APX5000/6000/7000/8000 Knob Blocker – Now Made with TPU.
We’ve made an upgrade to our APX5000/6000/7000/8000 knob blocker radio guard — it’s now 3D printed using TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) instead of PETG.
Why the switch? TPU is just better suited for the job. The APX5000/6000/7000/8000 knob blocker is a more complex design and required a more flexible material. It’s tough, flexible, and made to last. With high wear resistance and resilience, it stands up to heavy use while holding its shape. It’s also got great tear strength, high elasticity, and handles pressure like a pro. On top of that, it resists water, oil, grease, fuel, solvents, chemicals, and even heat — all while being easy to clean and sterilize.
TPU is also recyclable, which helps us (and you) make more responsible material choices.
Heads-up: TPU is a more expensive material, so the unit cost has gone up slightly. But we think the added durability and performance are well worth it.
